Native American Fatherhood and Families Association Philosophy
The Core of NAFFA Wellness
Hope
Hope: is not knowledge, it is trust and confidence in the future.
Hope is centered in the Creator.
Hope unites our Body and Spirit.
Hope anchors the soul.
Hope empowers us to better see the future.
Hope has the power to fill our lives with happiness, love, peace, and helps us overcome problems.
Hope is directly related to gratitude, humility, and our future.
Hope is not wishful thinking or fantasizing about a better future.
When hope is absent, our hearts and minds begin to shut down.
Hopelessness is the reduction of Hope.
Hopelessness creates negative feelings and helplessness, Self-doubt and the desire to quit.
Despair is a complete loss of hope.
Despair causes great unhappiness, sorrow, and inability to find meaning in life.
Despair kills ambition, causes sickness, clouds the mind, and hardens the heart.
